TurningPoint is a probe software designed to investigate the potential use of narrative-driven talk planning in slideware. The study of TurningPoint revealed the delicate balance between narrative templates focusing author attention in ways that save time, and fixating attention in ways that limit experimentation.
This project was carried out at Microsoft Research Asia under supervision of Darren Edge and Koji Yatani. It received an honorary mention for best paper award at CHI’14 and has been published as part of the proceedings of the same conference.
