UbiGreen

UbiGreen (2008) is a research project from the Human-Computer Interaction and Design department of the University of Washington, which uses activity inference to display transportation activity information on the background of an individual’s mobile phone. “The UbiGreen Transportation Display gives people an ambient awareness of their weekly transportation usage and how much CO2 they have saved for the week. The Transportation Display makes people more aware of their transportation patterns and gives them positive feedback when these patterns have less impact on the environment (e.g., walking, biking, or taking public transit). UbiGreen can help people make personal changes that can improve our global environment”.
